The boys’ tennis team had a victorious start to their sectionals on Wednesday, rolling over Elmhurst 5-0 with all three singles players winning 6,0 6-0.

Due to weather conditions this afternoon, Thursday’s boys tennis match against Blackhawk has been called off. The match will not be rescheduled.

Fresh off of their second-place finish in the Norwell sectional last Saturday, Bob Brothers and Canterbury’s girls golf team are set to travel to Noble Hawk in Kendallville on Saturday for the school’s second regional trip in the past 3 seasons.
The Lady Cavaliers are led by junior Sarah Dusman and senior Hilary Robertson; Dusman finished Saturday’s match two shots out of the lead with an 85, while Robertson tied for third with an 86. (Sectional results)
On Saturday, Dusman and Robertson will be joined by Caitlin Sullivan, Megan Keller and Helen Lou as they seek to secure the first team trip to the state finals for Lady Cavs golfers. On Wednesday, the boys tennis team geared up for a match against one of the better teams in the area, East Noble. Both doubles teams made it look easy though. Alex Greene was very happy with his and David Hurley’s performance; they proved themselves by winning their match 6-1, 6-1. They had a very solid match and went out onto the court with a mission.

Canterbury senior cross country runner Kate DeSimone is featured in today’s News-Sentinel by writer Brett Hess.
Kate DeSimone is what you call a small-school superstar. The Canterbury senior runner already has a state championship on her resume after her surprising run in the 1,600 meters in June in Bloomington.
Yes, we know DeSimone can beat the best runners from the biggest schools. But Saturday, she’s going to pick on someone her own size.

Canterbury’s boys and girls cross country teams traveled to the Blackford Invitational on Saturday, and senior Kate DeSimone set the pace by dominating the girls race; the defending state champion in the 1600m race in girls track won the race by more than 14 seconds over second-place finisher Valeria Guzman of West Noble. Fresh off a 7-3 win over Portage and a 1-1 tie with #12 Evansville Reitz, the Canterbury Lady Cavaliers soccer team met up with #5 Bishop Dwenger at Hancock Field Thursday night.

The boys’ varsity soccer team smashed through their slow start to the season last night with a well-played game against Concordia that unexpectedly ended in a 2-2 tie.

The Lady Cavaliers volleyball team has had their struggles with this season not excluding their match Tuesday night against New Haven. As a team several errors were made that led to their loss in the 4th game with a score of 19-25.
