“Well it sure wasn’t a work of art, I’ll tell you that†said Coach Scott Kreiger in the post-game press conference. The Lady Cavaliers’ (21-5) first trip to the IHSAA Class A finals led to their “first half jitters,†said freshman Becky Pedro. It may have been that the fans were seated so far away from the court that “the sound of the crowd was different…it was a dull roar†according to sophomore Tabitha Gerardot, or it could have been the fact that it was many of the players’ first time in Conseco Fieldhouse. Canterbury looked sloppy on offense to start against University (20-7) as they did not score a basket until 5:30 passed in the game and made only two out of twelve shots in the first quarter.
