The Lady Cavaliers volleyball team has had their struggles with this season not excluding their match Tuesday night against New Haven. As a team several errors were made that led to their loss in the 4th game with a score of 19-25.

“Do or Die”: As the Lady Cavs held their season opener against Lakewood Park on Tuesday, the motivational team motto seemed to be lost in the distress of multiple errors. Having lost 4 starters from the 2008-2009 season, the volleyball team has been put through a rigorous preseason to prepare for the intensity of competition found in their schedule.

While some students will tromp through the doors at Canterbury School for the first time in 2 months on Thursday, many others have spent the past few weeks going through two-a-days, preseason practices and even, in some cases, early-season matches for Cavaliers sports teams.

The varsity volleyball team defeated Lakewood Park on Monday on Senior Night. Seniors Taylar Meeks, Nakao Mauch, Jamie Trenkner, Renesa Scruggs, Amy Pasalich, and Anna Rao were honored before the game.

The Lady Cavaliers volleyball finished strong in their match against Lakeview Christian Tuesday night even though they struggled in the third game with a change in the starting lineup. In the end, the Cavaliers prevailed as they won 3-1; the game scores were 25-15, 25-13, 18-25, and 25-14, respectively.

Lots of talking out on the court and staying mentally tough were the keys Wednesday night in the nail-biting game against Churubusco. The Lady Cavaliers lost the first two games but had a strong comeback to take home their victory.
