Canterbury School may be on spring break, but the awards haven’t slowed down for junior girls basketball player Tabitha Gerardot. In the past two weeks, the leading scorer for the the two-time state champion Lady Cavaliers has picked up two significant honors from around the state. The first, a spot on the Underclass All-Star team, was chosen by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association; Gerardot was one of 15 freshmen, sophomores or juniors from around the state to be picked for the squad. The Associated Press also honored Gerardot by selecting her second team All-State, putting her in elite company. Congratulations to Tabitha!

Canterbury junior forward Tabitha Gerardot has been named the Fort Wayne Daily News player of the year for the 2008-09 girls basketball season. The Lady Cavaliers’ leading scorer was also named the publication’s Impact Player of the week for her dominant regional performances against Kouts and Oregon-Davis. FORT WAYNE, Ind. – High school seniors across the country put pen to paper Wednesday, confirming their plans to attend a variety of Division I institutions to play college sports. That same event played out at Canterbury High School seven times over on Wednesday morning, a record for one of Fort Wayne’s smallest high schools.

The Indiana High School Athletics Association announced more than a month ago that Canterbury junior Hilary Robertson had been selected as a IHSAA Role Model for the 2008-09 school year. Robertson, along with Allen County’s three other Role Models for the year, is featured in today’s Journal Gazette.
