Wednesday afternoon, Canterbury boys’ golf played their home opener match against the Heritage Patriots at Chestnut Hills Golf Club and the varsity won, 167-190.

On the heels of a second-place finish in the South Side sectional at Brookwood, the Canterbury boys golf team will head to regionals on Thursday with the goal of qualifying for the state competition.

Canterbury’s boys golf team hosted the Canterbury Invitational and emerged victorious by a single stroke over Norwell.

The girls tennis, girls softball, boys baseball and boys golf have announced numerous changes to the spring schedules. Please make the following adjustments to your pocket schedules:

All three Canterbury sports contests originally scheduled for Thursday afternoon have been postponed. The girls tennis match against Bishop Dwenger has been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. on April 22. UPDATE The baseball game at Wayne has been rescheduled for Friday, April 11 at 4:30 p.m. A makeup date for the the golf match against Lakewood Park has yet to be determined.

While students grudgingly returned to Canterbury High School Monday morning after spring break, those who are athletes will be asked to be in top form almost immediately. The spring sports season, which has already begun for some teams (boys golf won the East Noble Invitational on Saturday), gets into full swing beginning this week. The following contests are scheduled for this week:

The meeting for parents of athletes participating in a spring sport is tonight, Monday March 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Please remember that this meeting is mandatory for parents, but athletes are not expected to attend.
