Tuesday’s girls tennis match against Leo, a rescheduled match from earlier this season, has been cancelled due to a conflict.
The girls softball team has added a game on Thursday evening at Fremont at 5 p.m.

Congratulations to sophomore Sarah Walbridge and freshman Jacqi Riemersma, who started their first game ever this past windy Wednesday. Despite the girls softball team’s unfortunate home loss, many of the individual players contributed to the game in a positive way, as well as the entire developing team, which worked hard and played with passion.

Today’s girls softball game against South Side has been rained out; the game has been rescheduled for Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., once again at Canterbury.

Poor field conditions at Canterbury have caused the athletics office to CHANGE THE LOCATION OF TONIGHT’S SOFTBALL GAME to South Side’s home field at Packard Park, at the intersection of Fairfield and Packard. Senior night festivities will not take place at the game. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
The baseball game against Heritage, originally scheduled for tonight as senior night, has been canceled due to poor field conditions at Canterbury. The game will not be made up. Senior night festivities will take place at an alternate location; please contact Sharon Kacprowicz or Brian Greer for more information.

Despite sunny skies on Monday, this past weekend’s rain created poor field conditions, and the athletics department has been forced to cancel the Canterbury girls softball game at home this afternoon against Bluffton. No makeup date has been announced, but since sectionals begin at Canterbury next Monday, it is unlikely that today’s game will be made up.

The statistics structure of the Canterbury School Sports Blog has changed, and stats for two new sports have been added. You will notice a heading on the sidebar entitled “2007-08 Statistics;” beneath that heading, you will find links to statistics all Canterbury athletics teams whose coaches have uploaded them somewhere on the world wide web. Baseball (stats available in Microsoft Excel format only) and Softball have been added and are fully updated as of the date of this post.
